since taking office Obama and his Democrat-controlled Congress have spent somewhere in the neighborhood of two trillion dollars bailing out industries with little or no benefit to the average American.
... and how would it have necessarily benefited the average American had the government let all these industries fail?
So you wouldn't be critical had nothing been done and a messy bankruptcy been allowed along with chaos in the auto industry as well as those industries that directly and indirectly support and are supported by them? It's reasonable to say this could have further exacerbated the economic situation which is in the pits already. While I hate the idea of Government intervention, given the situation at the time I'm not entirely convinced that had it not intervened, things would have been more rosier.
A quote regarding the Soviet economy that can be applied to the Obama Administration.
