Although most of the rules that are made in respect to breaking the law aren't the impractical ones. some of the "ridiculous" rules are only ridiculous outside of the Big 3 Sports of football, basketball, and baseball.
For example, most of the rules pertaining to competition outside of school make at least some sense for football...but they make NO SENSE to an Equestrian athlete. What do you mean we can't accept RIBBONS?!?!
I am not lying. An NCAA Equestrian athlete is not allowed to accept RIBBONS. Or any other prizes for winning. To someone who grew up doing horse shows and in the equestrian community, these rule are about as "Sensible" as telling a football player they can't practice at home with their own footballs. It just doesn't make sense.

How the rules that exist affect sports outside football and basketball. WIth all the publicity that those two receive, I think it's easy to forget that the NCAA is supposed to be responsible for nearly every other sport played in most colleges.
The NCAA gets something right!
