Mazda RX-8 is out of my price range, as well as the rotary engine being much more problematic than your standard four cylinder. There was a time I would have been sorely tempted though. The Miata and the Mazda 3 are however both worth a look. The Mitsubishi eclipse is both ugly, dated, and relatively underpowered for an ostensibly sporty car. Not to mention mediocre gas mileage.
