If it's not going to happen, the sooner it doesn't happen, the better. I hate to see people get strung out by someone else who doesn't put forth the effort or is too careless to realize what they're doing.

And, it could be worse! You could be like me and have your boyfriend just walk out on you after 4 years. 5 months in my parent's basement later....I'm ready to be done with the mess! Really probably not over it, but I am definitely ready to be done with it, and that is the personal decision that I can make.

Remember you must be happy and content in and by yourself before you're able to really try the process of being happy with someone else. And sometimes that state is not easily found, but you take it one day at a time.

This, too, shall pass and you will be okay.
