Like you need me to tell you this, but take it a bit at at time and do what you can. Sounds like your first priority will be finding a new job, so you can start the "insurance" timer again (the time period between job start and insurance eligibility).
But I know what you mean.. luckily, I have a good dentist and decent, but not outstanding insurance. Ironically, I work for an insurance company. Go figure.
But I know what you mean.. luckily, I have a good dentist and decent, but not outstanding insurance. Ironically, I work for an insurance company. Go figure.
The problem is that by the time I could reset an insurance timer, I'll be in Norway. APPARENTLY, I should've quit my job sooner, so I'd have time for COBRA to kick in before I leave. And if I hadn't racked up a couple thousand dollars worth of bills on unexpected medical and auto care I definitely would've; that was the intent, but it didn't work out that way. Oh, well.
It looks I'll be calling those dental schools (and possibly Mexico... ) and/or trying to get through the COBRA process ( "up to 44 days" from the time I leave the company) so I can eat the 10% early withdrawal penalty on my 401k, drain it and my bank account, and try to get a couple root canals before I leave. The fillings will simply have to wait, though I've already been told that if I don't get a deep cleaning soon periodontal disease will take my teeth anyway.
Maybe when I'm doing this on more than three hours sleep things will seem clearer....
