Yeah, I half agree. Aemon Send a noteboard - 18/09/2010 05:36:33 AM
With Wotmania gone (and arguably before, depending on your priorities), Dragonmount was unquestionably the premier WoT fansite. From that perspective, it makes sense to direct wotmania's traffic there. From a community standpoint though, I'm right there with you. It surely would have been nice for Mike to give US the domain. On the other hand, didn't the Dragonmount landing page have a link to our site? Can't remember. That would mollify me a bit.

Anyway, I honestly didn't care too much about this. What I was really upset about was Mike not following through on his promise to provide some migration tools. In particular, for the noteboards. I never cared, but a lot of longtime members lost a lot of important stuff, or spent a long time copying hundreds of old notes. I tried to help out with some website scraper programs, but they were tricky to get working, and I'm not sure how many people managed.

I was one of the people trying to defend Mike right till the end, but man. . .the way he handled the site closing really soured me on the guy.

www.wotmania.com no longer leads to a Dragonmount page letting people know where we are. - 18/09/2010 01:07:47 AM 1207 Views

Honestly, it's probably an oversight, or a temporary measure. EDIT - 18/09/2010 03:03:51 AM 759 Views
I still think Mike was a total asshole for not having it link to this site anyway. Whatever. *shrug* *NM* - 18/09/2010 03:12:08 AM 320 Views

Was it you who came up with that exporting software? Worked fine for me, once I figured it out. - 18/09/2010 10:54:11 AM 753 Views
I was the one to post the initial thread about it, yeah. - 18/09/2010 05:54:51 PM 905 Views
