The implication being that they and their cool friends and have gone out drinking together doing all kinds of cool things that real geeks would never do because well, geeks don't do cool things. They forget, however, that one could easily get drunk of a cheap box of wine all on one's own. Thereby drunk posting proves nothing beyond the fact that when drunk, before going to bed or doing "cool" things, they have decided to take that time to post on a fantasy/sci-fi website.
Sadder than that, though, is the ones who do it and aren't even really drunk. C'mon, if you're going to post as "drunk" to be "cool", at least put some effort into it. Bottom-shelf vodka can be your inebriated friend.
