I do not understand you silly people disliking cucumber...it tastes like green and water. It's a light, subtle, refreshing flavor great for ANY hot weather, and it's amazing in drinks.

I've read somewhere - whether it's actually true or a myth, I'll leave up to biologists - that a cucumber consists for 98% of water, which is a higher percentage than an ocean (what with the salt and all). And it shows in the taste. :P It's difficult to have an active dislike for cucumbers, of course, because of the slight taste, but otoh there's not much to enjoy, either.

like oranges, lemons, etc. Well, maybe not 98%, but still quite high. They taste quite unique regardless.

Too much water can dilute things, but water is necessary to dissolve the chemicals, which enhances your ability to actually sense their taste.
