Apparently not synonyms, but RA is the only example they give of IJD, plus they say it is auto-immune. No other example comes to mind. *shrug*

Indeed. Probably because it's the only one people have heard of. Other forms might have overly-complicated names. :P

True that. You could invent hundreds of names based off of the exact joints that are affected in each case. That's the default when you can't think of anything else :D
