American culture is also a problem in that it implies that there is some sort of shared culture between all americans, and we all know that is just bullshit. You have all kinds over there. Should we just normalize it and throw away things that end up in the top or bottom quartile? If so, you'll end up with Dan Brown, Stephen King, that baseball thing, and drunk driving. Oh, and Hollywood.
This is much of what I have written about for my first class session. To say that a region's culture completes the people in that region, is to say that individuality does not exsist. It is to say that "Dan Brown, Stephen King, that baseball thing, and drunk driving" (jh, 2010) defines everyone just because it is what is considered "American Culture."
Just for the record, I have never once started a war over oil. Well, threr was that time I punched a gas station attendant in the face but he totally had it coming.
