What exactly is American culture, in your opinion?

McDonalds, Hollywood, The statue of liberty, Manhattan, Rodeo, Silicon Valley, Woodstock and Lollapalooza, Monument Valley, tacky roadside attractions, (fake) football and guns.

Aside from the guns, most of that is not my America at all, but we do all have a sense of ownership that permeates. I know people who've never been out of Indiana, but don't have any trouble thinking about far off places as "Ours." That is a terrible explanation, but there is just a kind of quiet bond between people who may be nothing alike. It's cool.
