It's a comic by a nerd for nerds, which warrants some intellectual activity from time to time. Sorry that doesn't gibe with the little preconceived box in which you've decided to place any media that presents itself as a comic. :rolleyes:

Hey, I don't mind intellectual activity, or nerd comics for nerds; there's a reason I still read it, and OotS etc. But at a certain point (usually when footnotes appear) it's not so much a joke as it is a mental exercise. Which, once again, is fine, it's just not necessarily funny.


Comics are an entertainment medium like anything else. You wouldn't make a similar statement about TV, movies, books, etc. Don't pigeonhole the medium just because newspapers put them on "the funny pages."
