If you're going to be doing a lot of typing for some reason, you might prefer the Kindle because the NOOK is not easy to type on. But for the purposes of getting books and simple tasks, the NOOK's type pad is perfectly sufficient.
And the no-DRM options ARE wonderful.
I'm not really against the kindle, but I enjoy my NOOK enough that I would not reconsider in the slightest!!
