If you're going to be doing a lot of typing for some reason, you might prefer the Kindle because the NOOK is not easy to type on. But for the purposes of getting books and simple tasks, the NOOK's type pad is perfectly sufficient.

And the no-DRM options ARE wonderful.

I'm not really against the kindle, but I enjoy my NOOK enough that I would not reconsider in the slightest!!


I read reviews that the touchpad is really slow, and navigating the menus can be a little glitchy, so that if I hit forward, it'll sometimes go forward twice, and then I have to backtrack, things like that. But that might have been fixed in a software update, I can't remember how old the review was that mentioned it.

So does it run pretty smooth for you?
