At work, we have three chats that have been in existence for over a year. Two are work related, one is sports related.
Skype does a better job of persistent chats than any other IM program I'm immediately aware of. Why do you say otherwise?
Skype does a better job of persistent chats than any other IM program I'm immediately aware of. Why do you say otherwise? Really? The RAFO chats begin to lag significantly after a few months. We've had to abandon one already; it was beginning to take days to load new messages. The second "main chat" is beginning to take a long time, too.
I'm not seriously advocating IRC as a replacement, since a grand total of about four people would be able/willing to go through all of the steps necessary for that. Still, it is much better.
EDIT: To clarify, when I say it "took days," I am being literal. It took several 24-hour periods for the chat to show new messages.

Nope, but there are multiple Skype chats dedicated to RAFO.

Because Skype is not made for permanent chatrooms and we get tired of waiting days for a message. *NM*

A whole lot has to do with how often you log in to Skype.

Thank you for proving my point. Most people have no interest in logging in daily. *NM*

So you only care about people who have the ability to log in every day?

Sometimes it seems like the REAL complaint is that no one else makes it as effortless as Mike did

RAFO also doesn't have a Huckleberry Finn, but it's still an okay distraction. *NM*
