That and, comparatively, we're poorly evolved for hunting. Beyond tool use, we have no real predation skills. We wouldn't have been able to catch more than small mammals.

Physically, maybe. But we're excellent at sneak and manipulation. I'd say "grocery shopping" is surely a significant part of why the brain developed the way it did.

It would be interesting to go back in time and see what we really DID eat. Even more interesting to compare our GI-related systems then, with now, as I'm sure we've changed since our original diet.

Yes, and I'm not disagreeing with your general notion, just thought I should mention the above.:P
