We make those every year, and they are also requested. How dark were hers? Ours are a nice dark rusty color, not dark, but not light brown. And they are awesome.


They were darker than the nice rusty color and only slightly lighter than a chocolate chocolate chip cookie. I seriously have no clue.

Sidenote: The type of butter you use can have an effect on the color of baked goods.
please elaborate. :D

You might try using clarified butter in the cookies. It's darker, nuttier, and has the water cooked out of it. It could easily result in a darker and crispier cookie.
