No, just a happy coincidence. Joel Send a noteboard - 20/11/2010 02:09:40 PM
Was that on your list of criteria or something?

There's a really good website for making it from scratch, which has notes on how to make it overseas (unfortunately many of them assume you're in Britain, where canned pureed pumpkin is apparently plentiful, rather than nonexistent as it is here). Our worry now is that, while they have instructions for making it with either pie pumpkins or jack o' lanterns (which require 25% more sugar) the only pumpkins she could find were yet a THIRD variety neither of us knew existed. They're a little larger than grapefruit, and I'm hoping they're as sweet as pie pumpkins, otherwise we may get a very bland pie.

The shocking thing is that she took it upon herself to make a traditional American Thanksgiving Dinner for me (we're having it tomorrow, since Thanksgiving Day is a work day here). She's busily preparing my mothers recipe for stuffing right now (in fact, she's on the phone with HER mother making sure she's cooking the chicken livers right). She even seems to have SOME mild interest in American football, though unfortunately every time I think I've found a good game to showcase the sport it ends up like the last Skins/Eagles game. I don't know how I found this girl (working theory is "Grace of God" ), but I'm hanging on for dear life.

A hundred centiliters isn't "about" a liter, it's EXACTLY a liter. - 20/11/2010 09:20:02 PM 634 Views
