Has anyone played with/bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab?

What did you think? How does it compare with the iPad? I've read all the specs, reviews, etc.; I'm more interested in the user experience and how they stack up that way.
I'm leaning towards the SGT because I think the smaller size and weight make it a more practical portable device and more practical as an e-reader. I know that I'm sacrificing app availability and optimization for now, but I'm kind of banking on that improving as more Android devices hit the market? And I don't know that I have specific/sophisticated enough app needs to even notice the difference.
There isn't much of a price difference between the 2 devices, so I keep going back and forth on the decision. Certainly the iPad has the cool factor going for it, but I think the SGT is more practical and I'd get more use out of it once the novelty wears off. Because of the price factor, I also considered going with the Nook color instead, but the reviews give me pause. I look at that as buying an e-reader that can also (somewhat) function as a tablet, whereas buying the SGT/iPad is buying a tablet that can also serve as an e-reader, and I think that's the direction I want to go with this.
What say you?

Let me echo the screen is much bigger on the Ipad (which is an assest and a curse)

Exactly, which is why I'd say the iPad is the better choice.
