You'd be surprised at how many people would be surprised. *NM*

All the hoopla and all I've been able to conclude is that Wikileaks has just reaffirmed what most people with half a brain already know.
China would love to cut off North Korea and walk away? No shit.
Saudi Arabia (and most of the Middle-East) fears a strong, nuclear Iran and would hold their nose but look away if we would just attack? No shit.
Putin still holds most power in Russia and Medvedev is the "Robin to his Batman"? No shit.
Turkish politicians are mostly clueless about politics outside Ankara? No shit.
Karzai is a paranoid idiot who shouldn't be governing Afghanistan? No shit.
And I could go on and on. I keep wondering just what Asange thinks is so revelatory about these cables. I certainly hope people know that all countries analyze the leaders and politicians of the nations they deal with and talk shit about them (and sometimes back stab other countries for the betterment of those relationships).
Sorry, but there's nothing here that is "world changing". Oh, and if he holds true to his word and starts releasing documents about Russia and China? I'll give him a few months until they catch up with him and kill him and hack his network to pieces. Then I guess some people will understand how merciful the "evil American empire" actually is being about this stuff compared to others.
So far, leaked cables=fail

So, has anyone read a leaked cable they are actually surprised by yet?

I was mildly surprised that China said they wanted Korea united under Seoul's control.

If China is really serious about that, it's time to cut off the food and fuel to North Korea.

I'd be happy to see the US troops able to leave because there is no North Korea.

My opinion on wikileaks is that it's devolved to an anti-American smear campaign.

Not really, no. Not only is there little new, there's also little that's offensive if you ask me.
