I currently have English and Russian keyboards that I toggle through, but it's frustrating when I have English on and I need to put an umlaut or accent mark on a vowel, or type a cedilla, because I have to open up Word and insert a symbol. On the other hand, I've looked at the international keyboards and it seems like you have to have separate ones for French, German, Spanish, etc.
Is there a simple Western keyboard (THAT DOESN'T SUBSTANTIALLY CHANGE key order) that would add all these things that I need? Is this possible?
Might be easier just to remember the codes, I'm a bit lazy about remembering them since I don't use many much, I tend to be pretty bad even remembering X² in favor of X^2 but you can, or should, be able to utilize all of those Ö Ü ÿ and such, and their 3-digit numbers are all right in a row, best I can think of, a little 3M post-it for the ones you use until it becomes a habit.
By the way if anybody doesn't know what I'm talking about here hold down your "alt" key and on your number pad (has to be the number pad not the ones over the letters, you made need to hit num lock) and type in 153 or or 0174 or such, you should get Ö and ® respectively. It's often easier to just paste a symbol from the character map but if you use something alot, well, it a heck of a lot easier for me to remember alt+248 then muck around when I want to write "Its 33°F outside right now"
