On Facebook I made the mistake of accepting requests from "friends" from high school, college and law school who were sort of good acquaintances at best, and then I had to accept requests from my wife's friends...the net effect is that it's a daily imposition of stupidity from a source I should theoretically be able to control and regulate.

Yup, hide 'em. They already got the warm-fuzzies from your acceptance in the first place.

Or just let them unfriend you -- I didn't feel comfortable turning down my sister's best friend's mother ( ), but if she doesn't like the cursing, she can suck it.
