So much so that, according to Wikipedia, the liner notes to 2112 credit her as an inspiration and he's actively sought to declare himself other than an Objectivist, stating, "I am no ones disciple" (which is just what an Objectivist should say, yes? ) I can certainly see it in songs like the one referenced here, or "Trees", or "Anthem" (the Rand book or the Rush song; take your pick ).

I can't really deny the guy I knew was unstable (and while I was his friend, though he had trouble remembering that, I don't think he was mine). Around the millenium he began "informing" me of all the Illuminati conspiracy theories I'd shared with him a decade earlier, but very quickly got into stuff that even I had to say was "out there" (I have him to "thank" for knowing who Alex Jones and David Icke are). In addition to perhaps being the first person to appreciate The Fountainhead because of 2112 instead of the reverse, he also ran off on his wife about the time she gave birth to their second child, to be with some chick he met on some "patriot" site. Frankly, I'm not optimistic about his future; he seems incapable of honesty but he's hanging out with paranoid militant gun nuts in OK, a state known for it's high meth:redneck ratio.... For all that, he seems to have been right here, though it may simply be second hand knowledge.
