They will use the defense that they only never accused anyone but instead argued the possibility then they will go on to argue that they real problem is still all the hate on the right. I could be wrong of course so send me NB will CNN come out and apologizes for their coverage much less MSNBC or the NYT. It won’t happen of course because in their echo chamber world the right is always to blame. Even worse they will still claim to be objective.

Or, well, I don't know if I explicitly mentioned anything about a line, but I mean the line between pointing out the presumable connection to the political climate, which is sensible enough, and trying to make Sarah Palin, the Tea Party or other Republicans responsible for Loughner's acts.

Of course, there's been a good number of NYT articles on the whole thing by now, and I haven't read them all, so who knows, but I haven't seen anything yet that they'd have to apologize for.
