They have also probably seen more cases where innocent people have been convicted because they didn't have adequate representation. I think that reading "Adams Vs Texas" was one of the things that really changed my views of the justice system and made me realize how important public defenders were. That was years ago and since then all the of people that have been proven by DNA evidence not to be the killers and have been saved (or not saved in time) have just made me all the more a fan of the right to defense.
