I DID post a thread on politics (sort of) yesterday, and, as others have noted, there have been at least two that I recall on Egypt. On the other hand, I also recall a recent thread complaining that there was nothing BUT politics on this board one day after I posted a political one that may have gotten out of hand. I only found out about the "PATRIOT" Act thing today, and was a little cramped for time before my norskkurs, and until your journal enty I hadn't heard about the Planned Parenthood thing at all (it's OK to post your OWN political threads if there aren't enough from other people, by the bye. ) Of course, in the good old days I'd have learned as much as I wanted (and probably more) about all those things and many others as well; again, I tend to agree with you rather than those who feel there's too much politics on the CMB.

Unfortunately, as others have noted, everyone pretty much knows what everyone else will say on any given issue at this point. One of the down sides of not having tons of newbs (that changed a bit after ToM, but with so little activity on any other boards there was little to draw WoT newbs to them, and we seem to be in a post release lag partly, IMHO, as a result of most recent activity being limited to the WoTMB). Dunno what to tell you except perhaps that it seems like the continuation of a phenomenon long ago begun, observed and discussed. Best suggestion I have is still user generated content so there's something on the board for regulars to discuss with newbs drawn in by it (for the record, I DID notice your other thread, I just don't have anything to contribute other than "glad you enjoyed it", which I am).
