"Choose partners carefully to avoid this situation" cuts both ways; "choice" is the operative word.

If a man has sex with a woman, he should not able to force her to complete a pregnancy that occurs. The woman has ultimate say about her body. Choose partners carefully to avoid this situation.
It's one thing when the sex isn't consensual, but when it is, the bottom line is that no matter how carefully ones partner is chosen, no matter how convincingly and sincerely she assures you that she won't consider abortion, the fact remains that if she changes her mind and decides to kill your child at some point between conception and delivery there's not a thing in the world you, as a man, can do about it. And that, quite frankly, sucks.
As a man, if your partner chooses to poke holes in your condoms you're still on the hook for child support if she carries the resulting pregnancy to term. As a man, if your partner's on the pill and you're using condoms but she still gets pregnant you have zero say in whether she has an abortion. Once she's pregnant the ball is entirely in her uterine court, and she has total say over whether you become a father, with all the duties (but not necessarily the rights) pursuant thereunto, or simply has the fruit of your loins scraped out of hers, without even the obligation to inform you. That's why there are so many fathers out there with all the financial responsibilities of raising a child they're not legally allowed to ever see.
I'm not saying I see an ideal solution, and requiring a committee to sign off before every abortion certainly isn't it, but there does seem something passing strange about the fact that a man and a woman can conceive a child, but only one of the three people involved in that has any voice in deciding whether it will be born.

a debate based on morality is not rational. humans aren't actually rational creatures, you know.

It is true that the person with the uterus gets to make that decision.

If you belive a child is a child from conception then does the means of conception change that?

Not an argument or even completely applicable to what you just said. Just another viewpoint.
