The Dalai Lama said that Dorje Shugden is a detrimental spirit and asked Buddhists not to venerate him. He said "You're not going to gain any benefit from that and you should leave if you're doing it". He NEVER said "you're not Buddhist" and he NEVER forced anyone to do anything. The use of force is anathema to Tibetan Buddhism.
