After the colonization, there was a sizable amount of Italians living in Libya, who chose to stay and live under the king. When Gadhafi came to power, he seized their property and forced them out, killing some.

Now, 40 years later, payback for those Italians comes in the form of our Eurofighters bombing the shit out of Gadhafi's military assets, and helping Libyan rebels topple his corrupt regime. And I couldn't be happier.

Oh, and we didn't try to conquer Libya from the Ottomans. We did conquer it. And you know something? Just like in Somalia, pretty much all the infrastructure they have there was built by us. If we'd never taken it from the Ottomans, it would still be in the fucking Bronze age.
