It all makes sense now.

It really is a matter of personal taste, but I think a lot of it is cultural as well. Some people are attracted to "exotic" features, and others are more attracted to "familiar" ones, but what qualifies as each depends on whom you ask and when. Those blonde girls I like so much are a dime a dozen here (though, of course, ones of such high quality as mine are rare everywhere), as are blue and green eyes. It's like what a fella said once in m'ladys beloved NCIS, speaking to an Israeli girl (who's actually Chilean, but, whatever): "I bet in your home country you were considered a pretty girl, but the instant you step off the plane here you're an exotic beauty".
