I do not have one. I have nothing to tell people about. I'm not working on any cool ongoing projects that need to be documented or anything like that, and personal blogs just strike me as incredibly narcissistic. This is especially true of those annoying people who actively promote their personal blog, attempt to get different followers, join weird blogging circles, etc.



Hang on. . .what? You just now heard of blogs? I mean this in the least condescending way possible, but I honestly don't know how that's possible.




Not regularly, but I like to read about different DIY tech projects that people do, and so I'll follow interesting projects for a few weeks at a time, now and then.



Blogging is one of those media-darling concepts that took off because of its quotability rather than its originality or usefulness. People have been posting on personal websites since the dawn of the internet, but then the media got hold of this funny sounding term and went crazy with it to prove how new-age and with-the-times they were. Pretty soon it was the hot new thing. People who would never in a million years have made themselves a website absolutely HAD to start blogging, because, well, all of a sudden it was a thing!

Ugh.

And now Twitter is that whole mess all over again. Facebook (and other social websites) had status updates long before Twitter came along, and Twitter offered nothing new, or even better. It just had a silly name and a media-friendly gimmick for the news people to run with. Now we have to watch serious looking middle-aged news people tell everyone about the White House's latest Tweet, or some such foolishness.

Anyway, the whole thing annoys me.
