3. How long did you work there?


My jobs:

Age 13: Babysitting (2 years)
Age 17: Visitor Information Person (summer)
Age 19: Summer Reading Club Coordinator at a library (summer)
Age 19: College Math Tutor (one semester)
Age 21: Journalist (5+ years)
Age 27: Office Temp (2 weeks)
Age 27: Copy Editor (2 months)
Age 27: Technical Writer (just about to start)


4. What's the oldest person you know who is (or was) sponging off their parents still (I do NOT mean college students, but say that guy down the street who lets his gf pay for their fun, and lives with his mom - all while not going to school or working for no other reason than... he doesn't feel like getting a job)


I don't think I know anyone like that, or have known anyone like that. I moved back in with my parents after college because I was broke, and lived with them for a little over a year, but I was working at the same time.

5. (If you live in a part of the world where you have to drive) How old were you when you got your driver's license?

6. Did you wait way past the time when you COULD get your license?


I got my learner's at 16 and my regular at 17. I waited half a year longer than I had to so that I wasn't learning to drive or taking my tests during the Canadian winter.

7. Did you graduate from college?

8. What did you major in?

9. Did you get a job in your field?

10. If not, what do you do? Did you need a degree to get this job?


I graduated with an Associate of Arts degree (a two-year degree) and then entered a three-year program with an Education major, which I didn't end up completing because I decided I didn't want to be a teacher. I got a job in writing instead, and have progressed more through experience and a proven ability to learn new things than through education.
