The 3 large tax cuts since WWII.....JFK, Reagan, and GWB have one thing in common. After the cuts, tax revenue went up signficantly.

Explain?

Hint: spending is the problem, not the tax cuts. As in, even with increased tax revenue, DC spent so much that our deficit and debt still grew.

I also recommend watching IOUSA. Our unfunded liability is north of $60 trillion, mostly due to entitlements. Recent tax cuts compared to this is a drop in the bucket.

When I look at the national debt in historical prespective, I'm seeing that we did worse under Regan and the Dummy Jr.
And it's not surprise, because all these guys and their advisor were telling us that national debt is not a problem when they were wrecking it.

Granted, it's national debt, and not revenue, but I think it reflects the problem very well - the tax cuts do nothing except raising debt. All our economic grows under the Dummy Jr was so laughing in terms of job grows and average income grows that I won't even provide numbers. You can look them up yourself.

Funny you mentioned WWII and 1968. Can you put tax rates at these times as well? - 16/04/2011 07:50:09 PM 1278 Views
Not really. Even if you can substantially raise tax revenue, the entitlement problem remains. *NM* - 16/04/2011 08:25:26 PM 388 Views
