Most conservatives are in favor of expanding domestic oil production and oppose punitive taxes on energy. It is no more surprising that consecrative oppose the idea then it is that liberals and tree hugging Europeans rushed to embrace it.
We'd prefer to be wrong. But we live by "rather safe than sorry".
And if you consider tree hugger to be an insult, the problem is on your side, not ours
