He is more talking about "getting the man," the birth certificate, and economic populism. It doesn't matter his personal wealth but instead what he communicates and his base of support. George W Bush was extremely wealthy but George W Bush kicked McCain and Forbes asses in 2000 for he was better at communicating to the blue collar part of his party than Forbes and McCain could.
