It is the tactic of demanding funding for an unpopular item by linking it to a popular item, and yes both sides do it. I personally do not have strong views where abortion is concerned. I think abortion is a bad solution to a bad problem but i think it should be legal and available.
The only strong opinion I hold on the issue is a desire to stop seeing all of American politics disported by an issue that create such passion but doesn't have a lot of real impact on the things that really affect people. I blame both sides.
But to answer your question yes I do PP considers providing abortion to be one their primary goals. If it wasn't they would not risk losing their funding over the issue. You can make a n argument the the availability of safe abortions is vital to womens health and I accept that but don't hide behind the other issues then. And if you do please don't cry foul when that the other issues are damaged by you using them as a shield to try and push an agenda that doesn't have popular support. If they are the people using them as a shield need to be the ones to take responsibility for that damage. So if PP insist on tying the funding of all their health issues into one basket then they are responsible for the the collateral damage not the republicans.
