I am constructing a shiny leaded piece and am having trouble soldering the joints - I don't recall this ever happening before so not sure what to change to fix it. I've used this particular bit of lead before, and the solder, but the solder just isn't sticking to the joints. Boo.

Anyone have any helpful suggestions?

I can't remember exactly what it was called, but we used to use some kind of chemical primer - painted it on the lead or copper before soldering. Maybe google it?
