She loves Japan, and has spent 5 years learning the language. She's pretty good at it too.

Here's a bit of advice she has too, from an old IM conversation with her, when we were talking about the pervertedness of Japanese culture:

i know about some of the stuff in japan
one of my japanese teachers told this girl who was gonna study abroad to either wear pants or long skirts
there are perverted guys that get away with touching girls on the subway/train
then theres the gangs
