Eye see what you did there. Nice pun Praziquantel Send a noteboard - 24/06/2011 10:58:40 PM
And the receptionist is wearing glasses. Somehow I don't think this is good pr.

:D
I am not sure how I feel about laser treatment, and have decided not to explore my feelings on the subject either.

Why not?
So instead, I'm posting a survey!

1. Do you wear glasses or contacts?

Eyeglasses
Should you?

Yeah
2. How bad/good is your eye sight?

Ahh man it's turrible. Like -10 in both eyes
3. Would you ever consider getting your eyes lasered?

Yeah I've considered it and talked with my doctor a few times. He said I would probably be a candidate for it, but my vision was still changing so we decided to keep waiting. It hasn't changed in a few years now, but I no longer feel like I need to have it done right now.
4. Have you had laser surgery? Are you happy with it?

5. Would you be able to survive without glasses or contacts?

Surprisingly, yes.
6. If you would get laser surgery, what would your reasons be?

It's a matter of convenience and appearance for me (and much more the convenience part; at this point, I think my glasses give me an appearance of 'wisdom' that I think benefits me at my stage in life).
One of my main reasons for getting surgery is that my eye sight is rather poor. If I ever get into an emergency situation without my glasses or contacts, I'm unlikely to be doing well.

How bad is it? I've had to go a couple days without glasses (because they broke) and my eyesight is terrible. However, I survived. I was even able to drive on the freeway (a very familiar route and under well-lit conditions). I could even read if I held the material close, but it would eventually give me a headache. I was obviously glad to get my glasses back so I could do more complex activities, but I was able to manage for a couple days. This is one of the reasons why I personally am in no rush to have surgery for vision corrective.
How do you believe losing your glasses for 2-3 days would affect you?
