Are there enough ongoing posts to require separate boards?

Semantics &| clean code &| sexy collaborative algorithms can take care of filtering what posts are shown where if people want to be pure and precious about it. I don't understand the concept of separate message boards, expecially in light of the site's participant numbers.
Of course, I could be missing the whole point.
