My logic is fine, I just seem to have failed to make things simple enough for you snoopcester Send a noteboard - 08/07/2011 11:16:25 PM
People hated Black, then they found out he was a fraudster and were happy he was found guilty and punished for it - they didn't start hating him for the fraud they didn't know about till later though, they were just glad to see he was guilty of something. In a similar way to how people would be happy if it turned out that Murdoch was guilty of criminal offences and punished for them.
And it quite clearly isn't about left/ right bias - as Legolas points out, Murdoch's empire in the UK from the mid-90s until recently supported Labour. People hated Robert Maxwell, who owned a left wing tabloid as well 9he was later found out to have been a criminal but please do try not to let that confuse you.

You may also want to bear in mind the relish with which reporters at the Daily Telegraph are laying into Murdoch over this - I know this might blow your mind but this simply isn't a left/ right thing. It is a Murdoch owns UK tabloids that are of the journalistic level of the National Inquirer in the US - the News of the World wasn't really political, it just cared about scandal, ideally sex related and even if that was people not in the public eye.

Summary - try really, really hard to look past your obsessions and see how things are in the UK, Murdoch is someone reviled by both those on the left and the right (like Wibble here)

Henning Mankell "We must defend the open society, because if we start locking our doors, if we let fear decide, the person who committed the act of terror will win"
