She is, but she's lived in Scotland for the past five or so years. Legolas Send a noteboard - 09/07/2011 09:53:12 AM
And I really have no idea where wibble is from. Snoop is the only one I knew was a Brit. But you are probably right, after years of listening to the loony left on this side of the pond work themselves into a tizzy over someone having the audacity to broadcast news that isn't far left I tend assume that is what the loonies over there are talking about when they say they hate him.

Wibble is a born and bred Scotsman as well, and as Snoop says, you definitely can't accuse Wibble of being liberal or left-wing.

I don't know if you've ever tried to read The Sun or The News of the World, but think of it as the New York Post on steroids, and with topless girls on the third page of every newspaper. Which in itself should be enough to tell you that right-wing orthodoxy or conservatism aren't exactly those newspapers' main priorities.
To be honest is a fairer criticism of him that what I typically see. I personally don't like most of the Fox News shows because they are over sensationalized. Mike Wallace's Sunday show is the only one a really like and he isn't on the cable channel but the broadcast channel. All of Murdock's media outlets are not like that but o many of them are.

Murdoch is certainly a conservative himself, and nearly all of the media in his imperium are conservative or right of center to some extent, but as said before, his British tabloids are more about sensationalism and populism of the cheapest kind than they are about any particular political stance. To some extent the same is true for the New York Post, but the British ones are worse. But of course Murdoch is smart enough to realize that that sort of sensationalism has no place in his respectable newspapers, The Times in Britain and the Wall Street Journal in the US.
