Sadly, that's so, I just keep expecting them to put the countrys survival ahead of greed.

Tax hikes for the rich aren't exactly part of the Republican agenda.

As I said, those US dollars they're stuffing their pockets with won't be worth much if the economy collapses. Apparently Treasury Secretary Geithner has been thinking the same I have: With what just happened in Greece and the ongoing concerns about them and the rest of PIGS, this is a BAD time to test global confidence in nations on the brink of bankruptcy. The dirty little secret in all this is that, according to Wikipedia, what was true of US debt in my childhood remains true now: 47% of US debt is held by non-Americans; guess who that means has the other 53%. I'll give you a hint: They ALWAYS think their taxes are too high....

EDIT: To correct transposed numbers.

Didn't Obama sign the tax cuts we are operating under now? He deserves some credit for that

Actually, I agree; granting the Republicans demands does make him partly culpable.

I think you have to be there to get a detailed spreadsheet, but the general terms are known.

There were answers, just very general ones; the specifics aren't being publicly released.
