Elected people need to work togeather. I hate all this posturing. We are worse for it. And their is no point in taking joy in another's lose. Problem solved lets move on.
This isn't going to solve any problems; all they're going to do is raise the debt ceiling and continue pretending it doesn't exist. We MIGHT get some spending cuts that will be very painful for tens of millions who'll get less of the Medicare and Social Security benefits they've spent their entire adult lives paying for, but don't count on it; Congressional Dems aren't all as spineless as their president (who's consistently shown them he can't deliver a deal) and have their own base to think about in 2012. Even the proposed spending cuts wouldn't end the deficit or reduce our debt though, so either way it doesn't matter to the big picture. They didn't solve any problem. They didn't throw the game winning Hail Mary, and they really didn't even punt; they took the safety so they wouldn't have to punt out of their own end zone, but you don't win games doing that.
Honorbound and honored to be Bonded to Mahtaliel Sedai

Boehner was onboard with Obamas initial deal but cited his caucus as the reason he backed out of it.

the tax cuts are set to expire on their own, they don't need to vote to cancel them.

Yes, but they voted to extend them last winter, which you insist was the Dems fault.
