I've been to rallies where someone had their kids along and handing them some posterboard and crayons/markers gives them something fun to do, so I'm nominally fine with that, but however much I might agree or disagree with whatever point someone is making, and while I hardly consider it abusive or anything, I just think kids shouldn't be involved like that.


The great majority of those kids have no idea what their signs actually mean. Their essentially just being used by their parents. If they do know what they're holding the sign for and what it means, it's only going to be what their parents told them anyway. I don't like it because it's a sympathy tactic and generally doesn't have relevance.
