Probably better to say he's not polished Isaac Send a noteboard - 14/08/2011 08:46:37 PM
Pawlenty just seemed very sober and pragmatic, and Cain's just a grumpy guy, which I approve of in leaders

Admittedly, what I heard was extremely limited, but it rather seemed like he was aiming to succeed Alan Keyes in his position of wacko candidate who makes everybody else look moderate.

I don't think he's got an extreme views he just seems not to be particularly practiced in not speaking his mind. Kinda blunt for politics, really smart guy too, I think when he starts talking about running numbers and modeling people assume he's spewing corporate jargon and don't realize his degrees are in Math and Comp Sci. His actual views seem to be pretty classically southern conservative and I think it comes off sounding more controversial because he's not used to polishing his comments up. I give him about a snowball's chance in hell of getting the nomination but I do like him and I'd not describe him as extreme or wacko... of course I myself probably qualify as an extremist by a lot of standards too so I might not be an ideal unbiased judge :P
