and that is, they keep diversifying their services and building the ones which are popular (for the most part) and dropping the ones which don't get much traction in the market. consider they used to only have the best advertising delivery method about 10 years ago and now they practically rule half the world with no signs of slowing down. of course people are going to get upset about it, especially when that kind of power directly impacts their own success. i think roughly half of the animosity directed at google is from legitimate concerns (EU antitrust, ASCAP, etc) and the rest are just trying to make money from the situation (java, android, etc).
