2. People are stupid. Dozens of people on twitter think that there was no Libyan uprising, that the whole thing was staged or sponsored by NATO as part of some evil scheme to "get Libya's oil", when in fact the uprising was inconvenient, as the West had just spent a lot of time and money to make peace with Gaddafi and had some sweet oil deals without needing to bomb. Also, some people seem to actually believe idiots like Hugo Chavez who have been saying that NATO "flattened" Tripoli and killed thousands of people.


I've seen people complain that this entire uprising was uncalled for because Gaddafi was giving the Libyans free healthcare and the like, and that these are all just Islamic militants wanting to place Islam as the religion of state.

I don't agree, however.
