I don't believe the US has fought a war in the last 100 years where the Brits were not our strongest and most trusted allies. That means something to most Americans. That and we like Docotr Who.

I'm not British, but I think I can safely say that a lot of Brits are frustrated about the "Special Relationship" being so one-sided, with Britain needing the US far more than the other way around, and that they really don't feel the love from the US, at least not politically. Culturally is another matter.
and yes my first post was in the wrong place.

I never did get what it was that you had to combine with America's pro-British stance... if you had put that reply in a different location it might indeed have been easier to understand. :P
