I think, sir, that you are incorrect. I have little doubt that a vast majority of what has been going on to remember 9/11 wasn't to mourn, it was because it was expected. That's not to say it all wasn't. Certain events were fine. I mean, opening the Memorial and some coverage for that is fine and dandy. Turning it into almost a National Holiday is simply despicable.
I don't think Dannymac is being heartless or soulless. He's stating the truth. Personally I'm borderline sickened by the way we've taken advantage of the tragedy to each make ourselves look better and feel better about ourselves. There was no reason every sports team had to do a tribute, no reason random children with no involvement who were barely even born at the time of the tragedy should be reading speeches about it.
